Is Japanese anime suitable for kids?
Watching anime is one of the best family-friendly things to do at home. Anime has become more popular as a movie and TV program genre lately, and more children are absorbed in the fun contents not only in Japan but also worldwide.
The Dangers of Anime
Because so many anime TV shows and movies are made for adults, the chances a kid could be exposed to very inappropriate content are high. This includes things like violence, crude language, nudity, drug use, and sexual content — basically anything they could see in a live-action R-rated movie.

Very good show, has a lot of violence
It was a pretty violent show but is not as gory as other animes. I think it deserves it's MA15+ but would be okay for some children if they are mature and have watched other animes.
Parents need to know that Attack on Titan is a violent and brutal entry in the anime genre not suited for children, tweens, or some younger teenagers.
In Japan, anime is watched by literaly every age demographic, from young to adults.
This anime is really cool and great for 10+. My 13 and 16 year old love this show. There is no sexual content or talk except for one scene in 1 episode, when Naruto performs his sexy jutsu but mind you, he only does this once and eventually learns his lesson and becomes mature and never does this again.
Parents need to know that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is an anime series that features lots of fantasy violence, blood, and scary looking demonic creatures. The dead and possessed include young children, and characters are seen eating human flesh.
Here are some tips on age-appropriate anime: Anime seen on the Cartoon Network (or other channels that show children's cartoons) before 9pm is probably safe for most children younger than 13. If it is on after 9pm, then you know it isn't appropriate for children younger than 13.
One is never too old to watch anime! Anime has multiple genres that cater to the tastes of the young and the old.
Is squid appropriate for 12 year olds?
The age rating for "Squid Game" on Netflix is TV-MA, which means for mature audiences only. According to TV Guidelines, TV-MA indicates "this program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17.

The violent and disturbing scenes from My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, mentioned above, might scare or disturb children aged 8-13 years.
In a way, it can be confusing for 12 and under because people talk like detectives. This anime shows a high schooler having the motive to kill people which should not be seen by young viewers. This show is great and the pov is about the bad character.
Parents need to know that this mature Adult Swim anime series isn't intended for kids. It revolves around a high school student who becomes a serial killer. Since his victims are all criminals, he justifies the murders as a way of creating a crime-free world. Most of the deaths aren't too graphic, but they're frequent.
Stranger Things 4 is rated TV-14 for horror elements and language which means some content may not be suitable for kids under 17.
Demon Slayer is rated TV-MA. The central core of the anime is about Tanjiro's training as a slayer and desire to cure his sister. Demons in the show are primarily ruthless, murderous creatures who devour their victims. The anime depicts these attacks graphically, blood and gore are a staple of the series.
Well, yes it is a seinen and it's supposed to be ages 18+, but it really just matters on your maturity.
Parents need to know that Jujutsu Kaisen is a violent, dark fantasy anime based in a world of demons and curses. There is blood and fantasy violence. Demons/creatures throughout the show could be scary and uncomfortable at times.
Internationally, Anime Viewers skew slightly male, but this skew is far more pronounced in English-speaking markets like the US, the UK, and Australia.
Is it OK to watch anime in Japan?
If you are in Japan, however, you can watch the anime when it was broadcasted. This is perfectly legal. In fact, you can also record it if you want to watch later.
